What is Authica™?

Authica™ is the software we have built to bring together gamification, eLearning, and powerful analytics into one centralized platform. It enables you to provide targeted content to controlled audiences, and to monitor what they’ve learned and how much they’re engaging with your system. For instance, you might have content that you want on your public website for the world to see. But you also have some content that you only want specific audiences to view — maybe your employees, or your paying customers. With Authica™ you control who see what content and collect tons of valuable data about how they use your portal.

What is knowledge management?

Knowledge management is the process of capturing, organizing and managing the knowledge and intellectual resources of a business.

What is gamification?

Gamification is the science of using game elements (like competition or points scoring) in typically non-game contexts (such as work, research, or training). It’s not just about making these tasks fun — it’s about making the process more effective. For more on gamification, read this.

What is a private online environment/logged-in portal? What does it include?

Developed with our new Authica™ software, It’s a website where you control who can gain access to it (e.g. just for your employees; or only for paying customers). It’s designed and operated with this very specific target audience in mind.

How do I sell my knowledge online?

You can monetize your knowledge by creating a Content Monetization Portal. Fill this logged-in website with tons of highly targeted educational content, and users from all over the world will gladly pay to have access to it. You can even sell your educational content or training materials to other businesses.

Which program or solution is best for my business?

We can’t say just yet! We’ll work with you to assess your goals, stakeholders, and knowledge to determine a knowledge transfer strategy that will help your business achieve its goals. We can’t recommend strategic action until we have an in-depth understanding of your business and what you want to achieve.

I don’t want the process — just a website. Can you do that?

The short answer is “no”. We don’t believe in implementing tactics without careful strategic planning. That’s why all of our programs (Employee Education Portals, Customer Engagement Portals, Content Monetization Portals, and Authoritative Websites) and products go hand-in-hand with our services. How do you measure ROI?

Great question. For one thing, we do measure, which you’ll be surprised to know isn’t the industry norm. We dedicate an entire portion of our planning phase to set up a customized measurement plan that is used to gauge program performance on an ongoing basis. You can read all about it here.

What is Authoritative Content?

Authoritative Content is educational material that’s been developed at the intersection of three crucial strategic pillars: your goals, stakeholders, and knowledge. This form of content is often built with a “curriculum” in mind – many smaller content pieces grouped together to become a complete knowledge base. What content formats can you create?

We work with virtually every medium: from articles to eBooks, case studies to interactive graphics, hot spots to webinars, we cover it all.

Can I use content that I’ve already made?

Absolutely. We’ll work with you to repurpose or leverage your existing content to align with your new strategies. During content planning and creation, we can review your existing materials to make sure they follow current best practices and accurately convey your brand personality too.

Who writes my content?

Your Account Strategist plans the strategic direction of your content and an assigned Project Manager works to extract the thought leadership from the leaders at your business. With our in-house Content Department guiding the creation and editing processes, our team of dedicated professional freelance writers have all the support they need to create For more on that, see how our process works.

How are you going to write content in my specialized field?

You bring your expert knowledge to the table and we’ll handle the rest. No one knows your business better than you, so we’ll look to you and your team to get most (but not all) of the source material — and then we’ll take it from there.

Who owns the content that you create for my solution?

You do. Period.

How long is a client engagement?

The length of engagement depends on numerous factors, including your needs and that of the program we build for you. Working with us falls into roughly three phases: Strategic Planning, Development, and ongoing Program Optimization. Once we’ve launched your program, we’ll continue to work with you to monitor its progress, optimize it, and expand it. Of course, the best relationships are those that continue long-term; the longer we work with your business, the more we know you — which means we our strategies and solutions can scale as your business does.

How much time would my team need to invest?

Of course it varies, but give or take three hours per week, especially during the first two phases of an engagement with us. As we move into Program Optimization, the time we’ll need from your team on a weekly basis will decrease.

How long does it take to have a program or solution in place?

We’ll spend approximately eight weeks in planning and 12 weeks in development.

What is the Knowledge Base?

It’s our logged-in portal so that you can experience our Authica™ software first-hand. We offer tons of great content about knowledge management best practices for businesses, and you can test drive the software’s gamification features. (And yes, the Knowledge Base is completely free!)

How do we work together when you’re not in my city?

The power of modern technology is a wonderful thing. We can communicate over virtually any medium you prefer. We tend to favor emails, phone calls, and GoToMeeting, a great virtual meeting tool where we can host video conferences. It (almost) feels like we’re in the same room. Plus, we will come to your city for key milestones throughout our relationship.
